September 21, 2009 – 2:45 pm
The new member in the Swedish Skincare System family is all you need for treating dry and itching skin during the cold winter months. It’s perfect for dry elbows and hands, uneven skin on upper arms and irritated areas.
The rich formula helps the skin regain moisture with DMS, a lipid complex that resembles the skins own barrier structure. Natural extracts reduce irritation and itching.
For best results use the cream regularly. The cream is steroid free.

How to achieve beautiful perfect skin
If you are reading here, you are probably interested in skincare and how to keep your skin young and beautiful. However, as the consumption of skincare products is on the rise, so is also various skin problems and sensitive skin.
Especially women tend to use an increasing number of products every day, such as peelings, moisturizers, eye creams, serums, primers, lotions, masks, toners…How many ingredients do you actually expose your skin to every day?
We believe beautiful perfect skin is achieved not by exposing your skin to an array of products and ingredients but by selecting only a few, but very efficient products. We think the new generation of skincare is about awareness and preserving your skin’s natural integrity and beauty, not about buy-it-all consumerism.
The products
Everyday Soft Foaming Cleanser: A very mild cleanser with a deeply purifying effect that preserves your protective skin barrier with organic sunflower oil and ceramides.

Everyday Soft Foaming Cleanser
June 8, 2009 – 3:39 pm
Following an efficient cleansing routine is essential for keeping your skin soft and beautiful. To preserve your skin’s own protection and integrity, it is important to use a cleanser that is as mild as possible, but that still does the job.
When developing our Everyday Soft Foaming Cleanser we focused on a formula that would not harm the skin barrier and your natural protection. Every time you use a cleanser you risk stripping your skin from essential lipids, water-binding salts and antioxidants, and this is something we wanted to avoid.
Our cleanser is very mild and gentle to your skin with protective organic sunflower oil and ceramides. For a clean and radiant skin, we recommend the following deep cleansing two-step procedure:
Step 1:
- Rinse face with water.
- Place a tiny amount of cleanser in your palm, add a little water and work into a rich foam.
- Massage thoroughly onto face and neck.
- Rinse with generous amounts of water.
This first step will dissolve water-soluble make-up, impurities and excess oil on skin surface.
Step 2:
- Repeat the procedure in step 1.
This second step will cleanse the last bit of make-up (if any)
and will have a deeply purifying effect on the skin and skin pores.
The more water you add, the more foam you will be able to work up in your palms. For those of you who prefer cleansing milks, use the product as it is and then remove with water or cosmetic pads.
You will find more and essential reading on cleansing and skin ageing here.
We also recommend you to learn more about the skin barrier as it will be your best insurance to prevent premature ageing. You will find all the information you need here.

Irresistible Gladiator Body Oil
June 1, 2009 – 10:27 am
People have always been interested in skincare and ancient beauty tricks and secrets are found everywhere. I wrote earlier about Pharaoh Cleopatra’s milk baths. This time I intend to dwell upon the Roman gladiators, sex symbols of their time, and their body oil.

Anyone who has visited the Baths of Caracalla can testify to the immense importance body treatments had, not the least as the baths served as a meeting place for the noble classes. There were both cold baths, hot baths and gyms and areas for body cleansing and relaxation. At these times, soaps where not used but instead oil was rubbed onto the skin and then scraped off.
The Roman gladiators also followed this cleansing routine. The oil scraped off from their bodies, mixed with their sweat and dust from the arena, was sold as a beauty product and aphrodisiac.

Now, it turns out, male sweat contains a pheromone called androstadiene that has an aphrodisiac effect. I don’t know if the androstadiene could be preserved in the oil, however, as long as no water was mixed into the product, the oil in itself would have presented excellent preservation properties. So, in fact, the oil might have been as hot as it’s rumour!
I doubt anyone would appreciate this kind of oil today. But what we can learn from the Romans is to use very mild cleansing products that will not disrupt the skin barrier. And if you follow up your cleansing procedure with a lamellar cream, that has the ability to repair your skin’s natural protection and beauty, at least your skin will be hot and irresistible.
