Welcome to the life of Swedish Skincare System. In this blog we will keep you posted on what’s going on right now and what’s in head of us. Malena Lagerhorn, our Research & Development will also give you the insights on all aspects of skincare: What happens “behind the scenes” when you develop skincare, does it really work, and what are the latest trends.

Background

We have developed skincare for several years in collaboration with independent dermatologists (skin doctors) to measure, verify and document the effect. Having licensed or sold our formulas to other companies for many years we decided to launch our own brand, Swedish Skincare System.

Swedish Skincare System is a concentrate of all our experiences over the years. The series in itself is very concentrated and tight with only a few products. We believe the skin should rather be exposed to less, not more, ingredients and products to stay healthy and beautiful. But ultimately, what you apply should really work and be effective. Thus, the thought behind Swedish Skincare System is that it is All You Need for great skin.

Our products are suited for both women and men.

However, this blog is going to cover skincare in general and not focus on Swedish Skincare System only.

Everybody’s Skin is Unique

A pioneer in skincare, several decades ago Helena Rubenstein divided people’s skin in four different types; oily, dry/sensitive, normal or combination. The last years an additional category, anti-ageing, has boomed. Since then, most skincare brands develop products to suit the needs for these different types. However, this division is very rough. What do you do if you have i.e. sensitive and oily skin? Lately, a well-known American dermatologist, Leslie Baumann, has divided skin into 16 different types. As there is no brand that can present 16 different lines for all kinds of skin, we believe that you need to combine your own individual set of products that work for you.

Skincare and Make-up

What about make-up? It would be impossible to have a blog about skincare without mentioning make-up now and then. Skincare and make-up go together. As make-up artist Wenche Hughes at Cow Parfymeri, that sells our products, said to us: “I need a smooth palette to work on”.

Why read this blog?

In short, we help you make a better choice. Many of us stress and worry about which products to use, which ones go together and so forth. Moreover, we get stressed when products are not working or instead damaging our skin. It’s not always that all of the products in one line suit your skin either and you end up confused.

Hopefully, our blog will give you a better insight in skincare, how it’s formulated and what will work for your skin, so that you can mix your favourite products to optimize the results. Here you will also find interesting reading about the beauty business, trends, fads and hypes.
